2014 is a Shining Year for Bali Safari & Marine Park

The year 2014 has been a successful year for Bali Safari & Marine Park. As a home for more than 600 animals, Bali Safari & Marine Park continuously works on conservation of animals especially the endangered ones. The park is actively involved in the conservation of Sumatran Elephant, Sumatran Tiger, Komodo dragon, Orangutan, and Bali Mynah. Bali Safari & Marine Park has succeeded in the breeding program of Curik Bali, a critically endangered bird, since 2010 in cooperation with Bali Mynah Conservation Association or Asosiasi Pelestari Curik Bali (APCB) and local communities.

The family of Bali Safari & Marine Park has grown bigger due to the births of our baby animals. The babies are surely valuable additions to the park’s family. The park also has improvement in the service and product, such as Night Safari which has the biggest improvement since 4 years ago. The night journey is now completed with the Walking Safari and Afrika! Rhythm of Fire Show. Watermania and Hydrolift were also added to the Funzone to make the trip more fun and exciting.

The improvement on the products and service boosted the visit from domestic and international visitors. The total visitor of the park up to November 2014 increased slightly 6.35% compared with the total visitor in the whole year 2013. This year Bali Safari & Marine Park also broke its own record in the total visitor in a day, where the visitors exceeded 3,694 visitors a day on 29 July 2014, 2nd day of Eid al Fitr.

The park also serves as a holiday destination for the VIP guests. Former Coordinator Minister of Politics, Law, and Safety 2009-2014, Mr. Djoko Suyanto spent a day in the park with his family. He watched Bali Agung Show and was amazed with the performance. Our former vice president, Mr. Try Sutrisno, and former minister of transportation, Mr. Agum Gumelar, accompanied with their family, visited the park on the same day last August. The Chinese vice administrator of State Forestry Administration, Mr. Liu Dongsheng, and Minister of Tourism Sarawak, Datuk Amar Abang Haji Abdul Rahman Zohari, had an exciting day at the park last October. It was a valuable visit for Bali Safari & Marine Park, where the management could exchange nation’s vision in the animal conservation and tourism industry.

Bali Safari & Marine Park also sends the awareness of the animal conservation to the people all over the world. Bali Safari & Marine Park continuously celebrates the Earth Day to share the awareness to the world through the journalists and the orphans who were invited to the park and became ambassadors of the endangered animals, the Safari Rangers. The education staff of Bali Safari & Marine Park initiated to celebrate the day of the Rhino, Orangutan, and the animals, so the public can be aware of the endangered animals and keep sharing the message throughout the world. The latest celebration was the national flora and fauna day celebrated by inviting the orphanages in Gianyar and Bangli to learn further about the wildlife.

The park was also succeeded in hosting the BII/Maybank Bali Marathon on 14 September 2014. Became the race central, the park was visited by a total of 4,464 runners from 49 countries and also more than 2000 people from media, sponsors, committee, and spectators. Bali Safari & Marine Park also succeeded in conducting a unique festival named the 5th Chili Festival with the theme of Green and Red Symphony. Royal families from Puri Agung Karangasem, Puri Agung Kerambitan, Puri Agung Gianyar, Puri Gede Kaba-Kaba, Puri Agung Klungkung, and Puri Agung Perean showcased traditional sambal recipes alongside more modern interpretations of this fiery condiment prepared by professional chef from Indonesian Chef Association, Chef
Henry Alexie Bloem, and celebrity chefs, Chef Ragil and Chef Haryo.

The year 2014 was a shining year for Bali Safari & Marine Park. Celebrating its 7th anniversary, Bali Safari & Marine Park held a blood donation, cooperated with the Red Cross. The park also invited 7 orphanages around the island to have a memorable day with the wildlife under the banner of its Corporate Social Responsibility program. There were Dharma Widya Kumara, Fajar, Tunas Bangsa, Yayasan Kasih Peduli Anak, Kesayang Ikang Papa, and Ginantri Orphanages with a total of 281 children, involving in several activities, including Safari Journey, Education Corner, drawing and coloring competition, playing at Funzone, and watching the spectacular Bali Agung Show.

The highlight of Bali Safari & Marine Park’s 7th anniversary was a party on 14th November 2014 in which employees gather at the Bali Theatre, invited media representatives, local government officials and business partners were also in attendance. Entertainment during the evening included a stand-up routine from the comedy group Gedebong Goyang and an upbeat performance by the local band Leeyonk Sinatra, beside the special performance from the dancers of Bali Agung Show and representatives of the employees.

The successful year for Bali Safari & Marine Park is marked by the awards accepted by the park in 2014. The park received a Certificate of Excellence from TripAdvisor. The park’s African themed accommodation Mara River Safari Lodge, was also awarded a Certificate of Excellence 2014 and is the proud winner of the Traveller’s Choice 2014. The park has been awarded its 2nd Emerald Award of Tri Hita Karana Awards based on its successful implementation in sustaining the three main sources of harmonious relations, parhyangan, pawongan, and palemahan.

Recently, the Indonesian Travel and Tourism Awards 2014/2015 (ITTA) has awarded Bali Safari & Marine Park the prestigious title of “Indonesia Leading Theme Park 2014/2015” for the fifth consecutive year on 15 December 2014. The award was a sweet finale for the park’s busy year.
